Intro to Flamenco Workshop
Part 1 - Sept 7 1-2:30Basic Technique. Includes posture (postura), arm work (braceo), hand movement (floreo), footwork (taconeo), history and vocabulary for this challenging cultural art form. (Requirements: no previous Flamenco experience is necessary)
Part 2 - Sept 14 1-2:30Zapateado. This footwork pattern developed by Flamenco! ...the Studio contains all the basic technique that you will need to develop clean, strong, fast footwork and proper body movement unique to Flamenco dance. It is a combination of various zapateado exercises and patterns that now has become a Studio signature demonstration piece for our students. (Requirements: Intro Workshop Part 1)
Part 3 - Sept 21 1-2:30Rumba Flamenca. Flamenco's most fun and flirtatious dance. This choreography will give you loads of Flamenco technique! (Requirements: Intro Workshop Parts 1 and 2).
Part 4 - Sept 28 1-2:30Rumba Flamenca. Flamenco's most fun and flirtatious dance. This choreography will give you loads of Flamenco technique! (Requirements: Intro Workshop Parts 1 and 2).
Sunday Morning Intensive Class
Ongoing Every Sunday 11am -12:30 pm (This is an ongoing class, not a workshop)An intensive 90-minutes of armwork, body movement, footwork, choreography and improvisation.

Alegrias I Workshop - Beginning Level
Sept 15-Oct 20 6:00 - 7:30 pmThis workshop will focus on the first 3 of the 5 traditional parts of this 12-count rhythm: the Entrada, Silencio and Castellana. Workshop will have guitar accompaniment.
"Beyond Choreography" - All Levels
Sept 15-Oct 20 7:30-9:00 pmThis workshop will focus on students learning to work in an improvised setting with guitar. A variety of rhythms will be explored. Students learn to use the technique and choreography they already have with various Flamenco rhythms.

Alegrias II Workshop - Beginning Level
Aug 9-Sep 27 11:00 am - 12:30 pm (not 8/16 or 30)This workshop will focus on the 4th and 5th of the 5 traditional parts of this 12-count rhythm: the Escobilla and Bulerias.
Intro to Bulerias Workshop (Beginning & Intermediate Levels)
Oct 4 - Nov 8 11-12:30 pm (This is an ongoing class, not a workshop)This workshop will focus on the most Flamenco of the Flamenco rhythms - considered a challenging rhythm, students will learn to demystify it and learn a series of patadas de bulerias (short combinations). Learn body movement, arm and footwork, palmas (rhythmic clapping) and cajón (box drum)
Sevillanas Workshop All Levels
Sept 6 - Oct 18 1:00 pm -2:30 pm (This is an ongoing class, not a workshop)This workshop will focus on the 4 coplas (parts) of Sevillanas. This Spanish folk dance is a "must learn," castanets will be used.
Tangos Workshop Beginning Level
Sept 6 - Oct 18 3:00-4:30 pm (not 9/27) (This is an ongoing class, not a workshop)Not to be confused with the tango from Argentina, this 4-count rhythm is Gypsy Flamenco!

All workshops are $150 and payable in full on the first day of the workshop. Cash, check and credit cards are accepted.

Notes
As our instructors are full-time working Flamenco artists, performance is a primary focus. Occasionally a performance arises making it necessary to cancel a class. In that event, a make-up class will be scheduled.
