Rumba Flamenca Workshop in Cave Creek

New workshop forming - call for information

Sunday Morning Intensive Class

Ongoing Every Sunday 11am -12:30 pm (This is an ongoing class, not a workshop)

An intensive 90-minutes of armwork, body movement, footwork, choreography review and improvisation.

Mondays

Mom & Me Flamenco Classes

Ongoing Mondays 5:15 - 6:00 pm

A fun class for children ages 3-6 and their moms (or dads!) where everyone has fun and exercise together learning basic flamenco rhythm and technique.

Alegrias 2 Workshop - Beginning Level

Oct 27-Dec 12 (not 12/1) 6:00 - 7:30 pm

This workshop will focus on the last 2 of the 5 traditional parts of this 12-count rhythm: the Escobilla and Bulerias. Workshop will have guitar accompaniment.

"Beyond Choreography" - All Levels

Oct 27-Dec 9 (not 12/1) 7:30-9:00 pm

This workshop will focus on dance students learning to work with guitarists in an improvised setting. A variety of rhythms will be explored. Dance students learn to use the technique and choreography they already have with various Flamenco rhythms.

Saturdays

Bulerias Mini-Workshop (Beginning Levels)

Nov 22-December 20 (not 11/29) 11-12:30 pm

This workshop will focus on the most Flamenco of the Flamenco rhythms - considered a challenging rhythm, students will learn to create a short choreography. Body movement, arm and footwork, palmas (rhythmic clapping) and cajón (box drum) will be covered.

Sevillanas Workshop All Levels

Nov 1 - Dec 13 1:00 pm -2:30 pm (Not 12/29)

This workshop will focus on the 4 coplas (parts) of Sevillanas. This Spanish folk dance is a "must learn," castanets will be used.

Cost

All workshops are $ 150 unless otherwise noted and payable in full on the first day of the workshop. Cash, check and credit cards are accepted.

Discounts

Take 2 workshops at the same time and get 10%.
Take 3 workshops at the same time and get 15% .
Take 4 or more workshops at the same time and get 20%

Notes

As our instructors are full-time working Flamenco artists, performance is a primary focus. Occasionally a performance arises making it necessary to cancel a class. In that event, a make-up class will be scheduled.
